If You Don't Invite Me, You're Violating My Rights!

Invite me to your party, or else
According to BBC News, a Swedish School has complained to the Swedish Parliament that one of their pupils didn't invite two of his classmates to his party. The school has stated that the boy violated the uninvited children's rights.

Has the world gone mad? Rights to what?

It's a sad state of affairs when something as fun and joyous as a birthday celebration is turned into a political football.

I agree that it is not very pleasant to be one of the kids who aren't invited to a birthday party. Perhaps the better way to deal with it would be to have a school policy where invitations cannot be given out during school-time. And perhaps as a thoughtful parent, you wouldn't really want your child giving invitations out to all but two of your child's classmates, anyway. But to take it to your country's Parliament seems totally over the top.

I would love to hear what you think about this. Email me and let me know.
